There were a ton of SMW shows at Freedom Hall in my town.
And I had NO FUCKING IDEA any of it was happening.
SMW had 0 regional presence. I never heard about shows even though I was into wrestling huge as a kid, watched WWF and WCW.
The fact that Cornette couldn't even get the word out about SMW to fans of wrestling in one of the fucking towns it ran the most says everything about how terrible of a promoter he is. It was never promoted on local television, or radio. I didn't hear about it until long after it was dead.
Kids at school didn't talk about it. Adults didn't talk about it. Nobody knew it even existed. It was a total non-factor and again, if you look up SMW shows, you'll see how often they ran Johnson City
