Realistically it's hey we don't want to sign you, but if someone else does we will gladly stop them from doing so.
So now companies will just... not try to sign them, wwe never makes a move for them because they don't have to, and then the talent is stuck on the Indies forever.
Make it make sense. Any other job application would go with an alternative if one applicant said in order to give them an opportunity you'd engage in a bidding war. They simply wouldn't bother.
