Its the standard cheap heat pop that every foreign and domestic hero does. Wrestling is such a visual entertainment that your appearance more than anything tells us everythign we need to know about you, and if you're dressed like a Russian or a Middle Eastern man and you come out with a scowl on your face, that's all that's needed to boo you. I remember at a house show here in Canada, R-Truth just grabbed the mic and said, "Canada sucks." That's it, we all got dabbed on by K-Kwik. Someone who was from Canada came out as his opponent and grabbed a Canadian flag that a plant had in the audience and went tO every corner for a great reaction. Its such a simple thing to do and to a degree low-hanging fruit, but its tried and true.
It also depends on the country; Shawn crotch chopped and humped the Candian flag and even stuffed it up his nose and nothing came of it. There was a story where some wrestler did something to another countries flag and was detained and possibly fined at the airport by the military for 72 hours. People take offense when you make light of their culture, but it also comes down to how you do it, too. Ric Flair tagged with Roddy Piper for a while and while in Scotland after Roddy got a great reaction, Flair came out and took off his robe and was wearing a kilt underneath and got another great pop from the crowd too. It really depends what you do with it.
