The day before the match, she teamed up with Ryuka at the Sendai Girls' (Senjo) Shinjuku event to face DASH's Chisako and Matsumoto Hiroyo. Using her wicked killing techniques, which also involved her seconds, she got the three-count against Chisako, who she had lost to in a hardcore match two months earlier.
>Watanabe, who gained momentum for the championship match by defeating his arch rival, laughed, "We beat an incredibly strong tag team in Senjo, so we should have no problem tomorrow. Akari is strong, but the other one is a really weakling. There's no way we can lose."
>However, she does have one concern. It's her partner, Tekla, who is set to challenge Natsupoi for the Wonder Championship at the Nagoya tournament on October 5th. She joined the Gokuaku Army in April and became a teammate, but she says that something has been off since the championship match was decided. "Tekla has been in serious mode since the Wonder match was decided, so I'm a bit worried..." she said, but then vowed to defend the title, saying, "But that doesn't change the fact that we are the champions. I intend to fight as the usual Tekla."
