It's certainly not anymore. Wrestling stars used to be mainstream celebrities. Again, not the case today, and far from it. The biggest stars associated with wrestling are retired or semi-retired stars that got their start over 20+ years ago.
But I don't expect you to understand because you weren't alive, or perhaps were far too young to recognize it at the time.
