Hogan clearly got to the ropes while in the final Angle Lock, but the ref ignores it and doesn't break the hold, so the match ends with Hogan yelling that he got to the ropes right before he taps out. As a kid I thought it was weird as fuck that it was never mentioned on air, and later on I found it even weirder that almost nobody online ever mentions that Hogan got screwed. Everyone from the dumbest anons up to the biggest YouTube wrestling vid faggots say Angle beat him clean.
Only 20 years later does Angle come out and say "btw we did that ending so Hogan could have a gripe and get a rematch"
