It really is extraordinary how badly they dropped the ball here. all you had to do is: 1st promo, cena AND rock come out and explain it and cut a joint savage promo on the fans, cody is absent. 2nd promo: cena by himself, again shits on fans and tells his plans about leaving with the belt etc but then cody interrupts and fights him. pull apart, then cody screams into the mic while being restrained about the upcoming match.
everything after that you just need to keep up the tension until the show. have a few more rock appearances and beatdowns, whatever. this is being built so slow/feels so cold it's like it's happening at summerslam not WM.
