I've recently went back and watched a few RAWs and pay-per-views from this era... and damn. It's dimes incarnate. Boomers have every right to brag, and I can see why they miss it. Every person on the roster was practically over, even a jobber like Gillberg was getting pops. Every match had a purpose or a storyline attached to it even if it was just a one-two week thing. There were vignettes and promos introducing you to new characters and stars on the roster, and every RAW and pay-per-view felt like a big deal. Anyone calling the AE overrated or saying it was bad are just coping with how shit the current stuff really is. Current period of wrestling in any company can't compete with the past and never will be able to.
