He was having great matches and giving stellar efforts in losses which is the key to booking someone like that without killing them for good.Truly a testament to how good Baba was as a booker and Kobashi as a wrestler. There's no point in that loss streak, at least none that I am familiar with, where it feels like Kobashi is done fighting. Even those losses where he gets brutalized by Hansen almost bell to bell, there's a moment where he gets the upper hand, hits a big move or figures out a new trick that almost gives him the win. Him being the greatest seller of all time certainly helps too.
