With age of consent, it ensures that for example a 15yo and 14yo can fuck each other without any issue if the AOC is 14, or if a 18yo fucks a 16yo if the AOC is 16.
What the AOC is not supposed to exist for is to give 25-30 year olds the opportunity to prey on 13 or 15 year olds and wait until they reach the age of consent to fuck. That is NOT what age of consent is created for over here and partaking in such actions will at worst get you in legal trouble and at best get you socially ostracized.
