Episode 4 (Attitude)
It's about the attitude era, obviously. Stone Cold, DX, the Mr. McMahon character, The Rock, etc. Not a ton to talk about here. The episode opens with a reminder that Vince has stepped down from WWE after the alleged sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations from earlier this year.
Second half of this thing is where The Rock comes in, and he's pretty fucking annoying honestly. Right away, he makes it a huge deal about him and his father/grandfather being black or brown or whatever, and plays that up several times. Then he says it's not about race when he starts talking about the Nation of Domination, and then goes back into it being important that he's brown. Fucking nauseating. Couldn't wait for this dude to get off the fucking screen. He comes across as very Hollywood / DEI here. Stone Cold and The Rock basically say the same things here - about coming into the business, being heels, being the champ, etc, but Stone Cold comes across as being likeable, and The Rock does not.
There's a great moment where the interviewer asks Vince "How similiar are you and the Mr. McMahon character?" Vince says there are no similarities. Then it cuts to Shane McMahon and he says "Well.. there's a few similarities, but they're very exaggerated." Then it cuts to Shawn Michaels and he says "..yeah they're pretty close. Then Hogan says "They're literally the same person, brother." Even Bruce Pritchard said that Vince is lying, and he's the exact same as his character, citing examples where Vince was just a complete psychotic asshole to him. The interviewer confronts Vince with this, and all he has to say is "I get a little passionate for this business sometimes.."
