Does anyone else only really like the original, more serious Mankind? He was one of the best parts of the late New Generation era. I never cared for all the goofy socko crap from late 1998 onwards. Foley already had a designated comedy character with Dude Love but they just never used him after Over The Edge 98. I get that Mankind was extremely over with the fans after the HIAC match, and a proper face turn was inevitable, but I don't think flanderizing the hell out of the character was a good move. Mankind was far more engaging and entertaining as a dark and deranged character, and I think he could have stayed that way as a face.
