Atticus Cogar tried to make a play for Gage when he started Circle 6. Brett gave him a contract to prevent Gage from taking the Circle 6 dates. That is pretty well known.
I did not know that Gage was (allegedly) in rehab at this time, but the dates appear to line up that something was not right. Circle 6 runs its first event, Gage drops the tag titles, disappears for two months, does one random indy, disappears for five months, then finally returns in October. I don't keep great track of the indies, so I don't know what was being said at the time, but rehab would be a reasonable explanation.
I think most people believed that Gage is currently out due to an overdose. I haven't seen anyone in the know confirming this, but it seems to make the most sense. Its pretty much just a question of was this Atticus making another play, or is this a different company sticking their hand in? Just wait for Alex Colon to announce his fed in the next week or two and we'll have an answer lol
