This is not a bait or anything, but I've realised something with my 20 years of experience watching wrestling. There is a large group of wrestling fans, not casuals, actual smarks, that not only refuse to watch anything that doesn't have a WWE logo on it, but also spend time online shitting on it. The biggest example imo is NXT Black and Gold, that is considered lile some golden age of wrestling by the same fans that shat on the indies for years before. They shat on ROH/NJPW/AEW Cody Rhodes before treating him lile the biggest star the moment he step foot in WWE. And no that's not the same Cody that left. That's AEW Cody, from entrance theme to gear to promos. They spent the last two years shitting on blood, only to mark out tonight, because it's done with a WWE logo. They used their voices to get CM Punk and Daniel Bryan in the main event, but refused to watch main event somewhere else. It's interesting because it wasnt like this when I started watching wrestling, and I felt it wasnt like this during the Attitude era, as something like ECW was watched by wwe fans. Maybe I'm wrong and it's truly the monday night wars that turned the fans like this, but for me, it has more to do with the PG ERA kids growing up with no alternative. Can any oldfag help me understand when it became like this?
Not an aew fan btw, I despise the overuse of blood and piledrivers
