>>5341152>All I know about MMA terminology comes from Pancrase and stuff like that, and I feel like I'm very slowly picking up thingsIts basically just control positions and transitions. Except for in specific systems, the transitions don't really have many names other than like "The knee on belly to mount transition"
Main control positions are Mount, Guard, Scarf (Pic, and its reverse where you're laying the other way), Seatbelt (Both sitting, you behind them, your heels hooked around their inner thighs, you holding onto them with your arms like a seatbelt, one over one shoulder, the other under their other shoulder.)
Knee on belly (Self explanitory), side control (laying across their torso at 90 degrees) and North-South (the 69 positiion.) A few other niche ones like X guard (my favorite!), butterfly, spider guard, etc. etc.
The rest is just yeah, transitions between them, and transitions from each to any given submission. Rubber Guard would be an example of a detailed system of specific transitions for one position. Wa la, you're now an expert.
