WWE is going the celebrity exposure to the masses route for shareholders profits. They've been around for 60 years and have generational fans. It's McDonald's. Mom and pops make better burgers but McDonald's is internationally recognised and so get most of the customers. They made and make burgers famous.
AEW is run by someone who loves wrestling, gives his favourite personalities blank canvases to work their art on, and the rest the opportunity to showcase their styles for better or worse. They've been around for 4 years and accumulated a loyal customer base. They're the new buffet restaurant in town. Depending on the day and chefs, they leave customers bellies filled and palettes satisfied. They don't have a menu list to follow hence the unpredictability. McDonald's employees come here because they're no longer needed or because they love cooking without limits. Because of McDonald's strong marketing, some potential customers become aware of this buffet restaurant too.
Both establishments have pros and cons and we customers benefit from both. WWE is bringing awareness to "wrestling". AEW is the place where superstars go to wrestle. AEW stars have been featured on WWE. The console wars only live in the minds of the uninformed, confused and insane. There is no war. You can go home now soldier.
