for example jake the snake at one point was set to go up against hogan and vince cut the plans due to how over jake was at the time.
in 1991 sid came to the wwf and was getting insane pops. he got a huge pop for eliminating hogan in the 1992 rumble and the crowd literally booed hogan for pulling him out. WWF had to edit it out of the VHS release of the rumble. sid said that on house shows hogan was booed for a few weeks after that
