>>13866715Anon, I'll be honest: modern wrestling is almost exclusively cringe in 2024.
I recommend you watch classic wrestling from when it was treated with believability, but still had the over the top elements and wild storytelling that attracts fans.
Search for Saturday Night's Main Event. This was a series of TV specials, of which only a few aired each year from 1985 through 1992 (there was a brief revival 14 years later, which can be ignored). These specials only run a little over an hour too so they're easy to digest.
SNME gives you a sampling of what pro wrestling was like in the WWF in those years. And since these shows were specials, you get bigger stars, better matches, and much higher production values than if you were watching weekly TV. This is one of my all time favorite wrestling shows and I highly recommend it.
If you find yourself really invested in a particular storyline you see on SNME, you can then seek out the PPV that follows. Be aware that PPVs are much longer and may include matches and segments that you don't care for. But you can skip around if you want.
All of this is on Peacock/WWE Network btw. And yes, there's still plenty of silliness on SNME. It's mixed with serious angles though. You have to embrace it all and see if that's your style.
