I thought for sure they'd blown it and he was just gonna be dumped in the midcard after his weird lukewarm feud with Jericho and losing at his first WM, and the promos attacking his height and whatnot. Then he turned heel to feud with Cena and their matches were so good, and his promos were so good. Heel WWE champ AJ was incredible and it was by the end of his first year there.
