>The plan is to practically guarantee the title switch on 9/21 with Goldberg agreeing that he would retire from wrestling if he loses. After his honeymoon in late October, HHH is tentatively scheduled to regain the title at Survivor Series (11/16 in Dallas; which at this point is also slated, and of course this far in advance this can all change, to be headlined by Undertaker vs. Vince in a buried alive match). At about that time, they are planning on pulling the trigger on the big HHH babyface turn, with the idea of HHH vs. Randy Orton feuding to pull Orton up to the level they want him to be. The feeling is HHH, who gets cheered by most of the fans, needs to be a face, and that also works for Ric Flair, who the people haven’t wanted to boo in 15 years, with the idea Orton would be the leader of a young group of heels, a scenario similar to how Rock (whom they’ve patterned the Orton build around because of their third generation similarity) turned the corner in 1998 by telling the older Faarooq to “know your role.” The reason Maven on Raw was acting so cocky and the attempt was made in announcing to push him more and create the idea he was staying with Orton is because Maven is a leading candidate to get a major push as part of Orton’s new young wrestler group. Of course, all ideas like this change weekly. The only thing clear for Unforgiven is they are doing the planned Orton vs. Shawn Michaels match originally planned for SummerSlam, Kane vs. Shane McMahon, probably with a gimmick of some sort, and another round of Dudleys vs. La Resistance in some form.
