WWE/WWF/WWWF has always been bad.
WWWF was easily the worst territory getting by solely on the population density of New York.
Hulkamania is often falsely called a boom but it was actually a huge decline in business. WWF, even after buying every star from every territory, was so bad it had to have their talent fly to major cities for every show in order to be profitable. With the death of the territories and the rise of Hulkamania, every city in America and many small towns when from having weekly live wrestling be part of their lives to having no wrestling at all. And Major Cities went from having that weekly live show to having WWF come to town once a year. It's a tale as old as capitalism, the inferior product always wins cause it outspends it's way into being a monopoly.
New Generation sucked, not even WWE marks like it outside of like 3 Bret Hart matches.
Attitude era was so bad every "fan" it "created" left in droves because they were so embarassed by it.
PG era to now has mostly been good but only in comparison to other wrestling which somehow managed to get worse than WWE.
