>Professional wrestler Meiko Satomura has announced that she will retire in April 2025. This time, the world-famous wrestler candidly writes about her experience with egg freezing, which she attempted at the age of 42
I am currently 44 years old, single, and the CEO of a company. I am also a professional wrestler. I announced my retirement next spring, but I am still actively competing in matches. In my case, when it comes to having children, I think, "I don't have a partner, so I don't really need to have children."
When it came to marriage, I thought, "I can live on my own, and I'm having a lot of fun right now."
I had been devoted to my work as an athlete because that was the ideal image for me. However, two years ago, when I was 42 years old, I had a sudden thought: "If I ever find someone I like, I might want to have children."
That's when I thought about egg freezing. I thought, "I'd rather take action than do nothing, and do what I can to avoid regrets," and so I started looking into information about egg freezing.
I then learned that the age limit for undergoing egg freezing surgery was 43 years old. I only had six months left.
