He lost to AEW indie shitters, came back and feuded with Seth Rollins who lost against Reigns, got injured and now he's back. And won the Rumble at the most cushy spot possible, where everyone who was remotely a threat to him had already been eliminated and still struggled against the man who had been in the Rumble for the longest out of everyone else.
Honestly I don't mind the stupid wrestling moves, Reigns literally pumps his fucking arm and fist for a "Superman Punch", but Cody isn't believable at all, its just spectacle. You've been worked into believing that he's worth defeating Reigns despite no sign that he's strong at all.
Which again, is fine, that's how the angle is going, but its not an angle backed up by the most solid of foundations.
