>>14051858Politics is so tribal today, that being neutral and not endorsing someone is an act of aggression to one or both sides. You're either with us, or against us mentality. But I think this goes especially for the left side. Look at these wailing yentas on The View:
>>14052737 Some of them think because The Rock is a celebrity, it's his absolute duty to use his platform to "save democracy". And that him staying out of it is essentially him saying he is against Joe Biden, even though he didn't say that at all. But he did say he wasn't happy with the state of the country as it is right now (and he is the president now), but of course, that statement is vague and could be attributed to anything. I just think it's funny that The Rock is so absolutely clueless to how polarized American politics is, that him staying out of it would not cause division lol.
To the left, not being political is a political stance against them. I remember when a third party D&D gaming company came out and said that they just wanted to make games and they were not in the business in making political statements and using their games to divide the gaming table to politics. The Left went apeshit over this in the twitter comments about how this was essentially a political act against them, and that them not being political was their "white privilege," marginalized people do not have the luxury to not be political because their lives are at stake every single day, and you need to use your platform to signal that you're an ally to them and a whole ton of other cringe. Everybody not on The Left though celebrated this announcement by them because they were sick of politics in their games.
