NEW DELHI: Former WWE superstar Ryback has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging legendary wrestler Goldberg to a retirement match. The Big Guy, who hasn't competed in a match since 2018, made the bold announcement in a video released recently, expressing his desire for a showdown that carries significant implications for both competitors.
Goldberg, a 2-time Universal Champion, has been absent from the squared circle since his loss to Roman Reignsat WWE Elimination 2022 in Saudi Arabia.Despite his storied career, the WWE legend has not had the opportunity for a proper farewell in the world of professional wrestling.
Ryback, known for his powerhouse style and charismatic presence, seized the moment to challenge Goldberg following an incident where the legendary wrestler hit a fan with a Spear at the Atlanta Falcons game over the weekend. In response to Goldberg's query about who's next, Ryback asserted himself as the rightful contender:
>"To answer your question, Billy Boy, I'm next. I'm the only one that is even in line that is even worthy enough of being in line to be next. So you need to get your head out of your a** and wake up because it is feeding time, whether you like it or not," Ryback stated in the video. In his message to Goldberg, Ryback acknowledged the legend's impressive physique but asserted his own superiority, claiming that he looks "outstanding" and that nobody compares to The Big Guy Ryback.
The challenge took a definitive turn when Ryback proposed a retirement match, stating, "The Big Guy Ryback wants Bill Goldberg in a 1 on 1, loser leaves wrestling retirement match." He urged Goldberg to contact his agent, Barry Bloom, to facilitate the arrangement for what could be a career-altering confrontation.
