It helped that they had a really solid roster of women around them helping prop them up (Ivory, Mickie, Victoria, Jacqueline, Jazz, Molly, to name a few) and it's a shame that most of those women don't get as much credit as they really should.
And honestly say what you will about how good Trish may have been in the ring, but at least she wanted to be more than just eye candy and actually put in the work and effort for it. She could have just taken the easy road and shaken her tits around for her entire career but she actually did the effort to rise above her role. I have no doubt that if she had gotten into the industry in a modern era she would have been even better than she was back then.
Hell, the Charlotte/Trish match wasn't even bad, it was pretty good, and that wasn't all on Charlotte. Trish more than held up her end of things in that match.
