My name is Yota Tsuji. I’m 31 years old. I believe in not taking care of myself, and a unbalanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine without cardio. In the morning, if my face is a little booboo, I’ll put on a finner while doing my stomach crunches. I can do thirteen now. After I remove the finner I apply my favorite fedora. In the ring I use a Quebradora con Giro, then a Vuelo de Aguila, and finally a Spanish Fly. Then I apply a Marlowe Crash, a move named after a character from my favorite writer of American crime fiction, Raymond Chandler. I always use a Gene Blaster with little or no set up, because I played American football in high school. Then I hit the finner and do my pose unless I lose in which case I pout.
There is an idea of a Yota Tsuji. Some kind of luchador. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.
