That would be like if back in the AE, instead of Austin vs. Kane, you had Taka vs. Stevie Richards. Solid guys who can work, but no business being in the main event without the right characters. The reason why matches like Jungle Boy vs. MJF worked (which drew a million) is because the fans had over a year to get invested in the development of those two youngsters. It was the same when Sammy and MJF tangled. Yuta and Garica, while both gifted wrestlers, were sent out to die for the "YUMMY WUMMY WORKRATE MATCHAROO!" As for Private Party, I was fine with it. They got the surprise win on the Young Bucks and were able to showcase their talents, but they were never going to win the belts - it probably would have been Jurassic Express, if Luchasaurs hadn't been hurt - but it was a good way to make people notice them... sadly, it was the follow through which was lacking. Many such cases in AEW....
