I've liked all 3 at various points in their history, and I've disliked all 3 at some point, so I come to this with no bias towards any of them.
I would say first, that wrestling quality has been in a complete free fall since the 80s. So a promotion founded in 89 is just by default going to be better than ones founded in 95 or 99.
There is a solid argument for Onita being one of the most important wrestlers in Japan. Basically invented indie wrestling over there. He's also a great storyteller in the ring, and extremely charismatic. He was a born underdog and the same template translated well to Kudo, Hayabusa and even Goto when needed.
Big Japan IMO doesn't get good until 2006, and even then they don't take things as seriously as FMW did. Ito, Kobayashi, Kasai, Jaki, Sasaki etc. do a lot more blood letting than you'd get in FMW, but they try and treat death matches like a spot, and a spot they don't always take seriously. Where Onita was a force of good battling evil, and he had to win for the sake of the fans. Also the Men's Teioh undercard stuff is gay comedy (he's gay, the joke is that all the little juniors want to fuck him ha..ha..ha..). And while I like Strong BJ, it can appear too coordinated and cooperative like all modern wrestling.
CZW, is an American indie. It's never going to be great. The guys, if they even wanted to, can't gain enough experience due to the state of the industry, so they're going to green. That said I think CoD XI is one of the best American indie shows of all time. And CoD IX, VII, and War games from VI are the best American Death matches. I'll also give them credit for having some of the best scramble matches, incredibly well organized when they needed to be.
