On the Hogan point, I feel like he’s a genuinely nice guy. He’s never struck me as this asshole or racist, and if you look at the guys in the locker room they’d tell you the same. It’s only this new generation of wrestlers or fans that would tell you otherwise, because they hear all their shit from Dave Meltzer and internet smarks. Or you’d hear it from disgruntled wrestlers of the past, who never reached the heights of Hogan.
Why do we take the sides of the Iron Sheik and Scott Steiner for ads blasting Hogan, even though they’re fucking lunatics for different reasons, but not Hogan for defending himself.
People can call him a liar or whatever, but I feel like all old guys embellish or exaggerate to make a story sound grander. Who cares? If it’s not egregious it shouldn’t matter. Flair does it and Cornette doesn’t bat an eye, but he’ll make a whole segment on Hogan “lies”.
And maybe disregarding all past stuff, today, and when the tape leaked, he’s just an old guy who gives his free time to his community and probably doesn’t have any enemies.
