I had some post written up about what I like and dislike about WAVE but it wasn't really worth submitting any more than a random ass picture would be.
I guess all I want to say is, and it's especially noticeable with Nagisa on ice, recently they just put on decent to good shows that exist in a vacuum and have no link to others and nothing to sink into and anticipate the next stage. People of varying skill levels arrive in one place, have some fights, then go home. There hasn't been any particularly important thing to invest in as a fan since well before 2021, and though i enjoy a lot of the tag teams in the company like Luminous/Brief Sisters/Kiseki/GalaxyPunch!, I also miss the months-long turf wars and title chases that would happen with the previous generation of Ryo, Misaki, Hiroe, Mika, Yuu Yamagata, et al.
I can't tell if it's just a natural process of shedding their roster down to a core and having to rely on a different crowd with different commitments, or if I'm just asking for a format they never wanted to cater to in the first place. Maybe the 'shows in a vacuum' is the intended product and I'm just a huge faggot that took too long to realize it amid all the many hundred matches.
