>>16025403Two factors cursed the women's division. For one, they had slim picking to build the division up. But the major problem was that their were two visions for it - Omega's and Brandi's. Omega wanted the Joshi's to be the main focus - Riho, Shida, and Yuka. Brandi wanted Baker has the heroic babyface vs. her nightmare collective. Brandi's ideal nearly killed the division. Baker was a massive flop as a babyface, and everything Brandi did was poison. Ironically, it was Kenny's vision which ended up being the best. Shida's run in 2020 working and elevating the likes of Jay, Conti, Abadon, and Statlander really helped breath life into the division. Moreover, when she busted Baker up, it actually gave Baker a character which she lent into. The problem was that TK really wanted Baker to be the face of his women's division. Even when Baker wasn't the champion, everything linked back to her or to former WWE girls like Saraya, Ruby, and Storm. The sad thing is, Shida is pretty much checked out at this point... and it's hard to blame her.
