>>16512953Well, right out of the gate you are just dead ass wrong. If CM Punk has only had a "mid" year, I am dying to know what has to be achieved to be considered a "good" year for you in terms of pro wrestling.
I'd argue he's had one of the better 2024s. Off the top of my head I'd say only Bronson Reed, Drew McIntyre, Liv Morgan, Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso, and Damien Priest have had a better 2024.
But for the sake of argument let's just pretend that he had a shit 2024, let's even pretend that 2024 was the worst we had ever seen of CM Punk.
Well, most of us don't just write off someone or turn on them just because of a bad year. All the great stuff they did in the past is still part of their aura. People still cheer Hogan brother.
HHH had a reign of terror that people hated (I didn't hate it but a lot did) and yet he's still one of the GOATs and people still love him.
John Cena was Super Cena for nearly a decade. It got to the point people groaned at seeing him win. Lol Cena wins. We still love him.
ULTIMATE FUCKING WARRIOR. Warrior had WWE out a whole ass DVD calling him a massive piece of shit. But it didn't stop us from remembering how we felt seeing him topple Hogan at Hogan's peak Bullshit Power Level at WMVII, or watching him steamroll through Honky Tonk Man. The legendary upset when Rick Rude defeated him. Or when he shoved Heenan into the weasel suit. Or when we thought Papa Shango killed him...
Yet we are supposed to stop caring about CM Punk because 2024?
Explain, mother fucker. Why are we supposed to no longer mark out of Punk. Be honest is it because you are a bitter AEW guy? I hope not. If you are, let it go
