Then Phil left and Tony slotted Jay into his void, culminating in an overbooked match designed to continue a storyline that had nothing to do with him between two injured guys who aren't gonna be interacting again for another year. Then Tony made a tournament where he did almost the exact same thing again, this time instead of trying to give the Continental Classic any amount of prestige, maybe by having the finals be between two guys who have main evented the most prestigious events there are in the business, he makes it about two dudes whose feud have nothing to do with the tournament all in service giving Eddie Kingston essentially a welfare belt so he can say he's a triple crown champion like he's a Make-a-Wish kid saying he got to meet Spiderman.
