ECW fans marked out for Sid, didn't boo Dusty Rhodes. Hogan could come out doing his 1989 routine and all the ECW fans that claimed to dislike him online would have started cheering hard out for Hogan in person in the ECW Arena.
Especially if Hogan joined ECW after Russo-era WCW when Russo effectively ruined the boom period with his 4th wall booking. Hogan would've had sympathy from the smarks over Russo forcing him out of WCW and would've had infinitely more presence than Steve Corino and whoever else was left in ECW at this point.
