Saya Kamitani was handed the white belt by her mentor, Tam Nakano. The high point of the reign was her feud with Shirakawa. Two terrible botches in a row resulted in Mina's teeth being knocked out.
Kamitani did her best work in the aftermath. When Ami Sourei asked the audience, "isn't everyone sick of looking at your face?" Kamitani feigned confusion, plowed ahead, and later declared, "I AM STARDOM!" She made Shirakawa wait for the rematch, and played it off as a benevolent gift. She twisted the storyline to suit herself. It wasn't about Shirakawa's revenge, Kamitani swore that "the Phoenix will fly again, everyone come bear witness!" in reference to her dangerous finishing technique the Phoenix Splash being barred after she injured Shirakawa with it.
Kamitani's post match promo was torrent of emotion, "she said something to the effect of, "I was seriously fucking terrified out of my mind out there you guys!!!" Injuring Shirakawa clearly weighed heavily on her, but the arrogant narcissist persona she turned into for the feud was by far her most interesting work.
Kamitani has been languishing since that feud. She had no idea what to do with the legacy of Queens Quest, and now it's real fuckin dead. She's going to look great in black + gold.
