Cole said he turned down Garvin’s advances in Garvin’s home when Garvin’s family was out of town. Cole was then fired in February 1990. McMahon at the time told both myself and Mushnick that Phillips had been fired in 1988, but was rehired and ordered to stay away from kids. The Cole situation happened after Phillips was rehired. Later, when Linda McMahon ran for office, Cole wrote a letter stating, “I can truly say without hesitation I’m thankful for how Linda handled my situation. Without me going out into the world and finding myself, god knows where I’d be.” He noted about Phillips and Garvin that they“were fired for there actions and they NEVER returned to the Company. That alone is more than most Companies would do now (let alone 20yrs ago) I’m sending a check to Linda’s campaign fund this evening. She is after all my favorite type of Politician…Fiscally Sound. As a life long Republican I hope she wins.” Lee Cole on his YouTube show interviewed a former ring crew member who worked under Phillips, who he called Shawn. He said that he and other boys from broken homes would be part of Phillips’ crew. He said Phillips would pick him up at his house, drive him to Philadelphia and stay at the Red Roof Inn and they would all stay in the same room. He noted Phillips having a foot fetish, and he’d wrestle him, grab his toes and said he’d put a foot between his crotch and sit on top. He said there were two Mel’s, the ring announcer that took you to the shows, fed you and gave you money an there’s the behind the scenes Mel when the hotel door shuts. He said he’d sometimes wear sweatpants while doing this, sometimes wear just his underwear and sometimes have underwear on and a T-shirt. Shawn said that when the Tom Cole story came out, he was already long past working with Phillips and was in the army. He said he worked for Phillips in 1986-87 and left for the Army.
