I dont care about gayew but unironically valuing the opinions of gaym journos is stupid. There's hundreds of excellent video games that got mediocre review ratings and in turn poor sales and there's dozens of videos explaining why they rate certain games so terribly. I'd say wait for fan reviews but you just know the cultists will spam the metacritic ratings up to fucking 100 or some shit. At this point the sales figures and amount of active players could be something funny to laugh about though.
All that being said, I think a mediocre rating is just what this game deserves, seen tons of gameplay and I'd personally want a modern day AKI type of wrestling game but this just kind of stinks. Seems like something that would be fun to boot up and play through the story mode purely for the novelty of it because we haven't had a proper big release of a game other than WWE 2K/SvR since that fucking TNA game.
