Watanabe, who will be celebrating her 10th anniversary since her debut on the day before the championship match, vowed to take the title, saying, "The IWGP Women's belt is the one that suits me best. I want to wear this belt as a celebration of my 10th anniversary."
>Watanabe's title debut was in March 2016, when he challenged then-High Speed Champion Iwatani. Since then, they have fought many fierce battles, but Watanabe says that Iwatani is always a hindrance. "I've beaten her many times, but I've never felt like I've been surpassed. I'm going to drag her down from her icon status and become a true icon myself," he said with a fearless smile.
