Anyway, X-Pac was over when he first returned to WWF in 1998 and through 1999 too. And in fact, when Triple H first reformed DX, HHH was actually the least over of the group. The New Age Outlaws were incredibly hot at the time and so was X-Pac. X-Pac was arguably a top 5 face in the company. Triple H was still seen as Shawn Michael's big-nosed buddy who used to larp as an aristocrat and get covered in pig slop.

He made up the term "go away heat" and then made the claim (still uncorroborated to this day) that people within the industry were calling it “X-Pac heat” when in reality, there is no such concept in the wrestling business. And lots of wrestlers have made the same point, including Randy Orton, that "go away heat" isn't even a thing. Heat is heat.
