Topic boards still have memes, shitposts, and everything else but they also have discussion. That is the difference, and that is all anyone is asking for /pw/.
The ratio is simply way off here.
You can't act like there are only two choices: a board of nothing but shitposting and console wars or a board with no fun at all.
There is a third choice and it's the choice that is most commonly reflected on other boards, particularly ones with decent traffic.
