Vince changed the ending of the Cody/Roman match Friday; anything coming out of the WWE saying that it was "always planned" is damage control from Hunter's camp to try and save face.
Vince is shadow booking the show and has for weeks; Hunter has limited control, which includes NXT which is why Hunter's moving Johnny Gargano, Candace, and Dexter back to NXT. Vince doesn't want Johnny on Raw and wants to repackage Dexter into something that Hunter disagreed with and when given the choice, Dexter opted to be demoted back to NXT than to go with Vince's plan.
Internally, moral is very low as it's now clear Vince is back running things. Cody's livid and very much pissed off as his contract promised him a title run/Wrestlemania main event. Vince has stated Cody "will still get his title run before his contract expires", but Vince is clearly still obsessed with Rock/Roman at a future Wrestlemania and will keep the belt on Roman until then. Cody made it clear he wants his title reign NOW not later, because of that and may void his contract since he has an "out" clause if Vince doesn't fulfill the terms of it in 18 months time.
