You never get this if someone alters a Chinese or Japanese or Indian or Mexican recipe, in fact fusion food of those cuisines is often common. Tex-Mex and stuff. But the second you put an unconventional pizza topping on you get a hundred Italians swarming you REEEEEing talking about the "sanctity" of these "cultural marker" recipes as if half of them weren't invented in the 20th century as poverty food and the other half weren't even invented in Italy and are either Italian-American in origin or stolen from some other European country. Yeah you keep reeeing over that Greek Lasagna and how they're "doing it wrong" even though Greeks invented Lasagna in ancient greece and Italy stole the recipe.
Italian Americans are even worse because they're LARPing as Italians its like shut the fuck up you've never been to Italy in your life how do you know what an authentic Italian pizza tastes like.
