They were still "wrestling" and you get a little bit of fanservice for behaving and stick around. Hell, most of the matches weren't even that badly wrestled if we're being honest with ourselves. They were simple, but they weren't shit.
The real problem is that of course we (men) went too far with it with with the fetish shit like the thong stinkface matches, pillow fights, wet and wild, or any of the pool of whatever matches. The strip matches and to an extent Paddle on a Pole had like a "playful bet/competition" between women who didn't like each other, but everything else was just basically straight up softcore porn.
