He was figured in to be a Top Guy from the beginning with wins over Hangman and Omega but TK biding time for Hangman to finish his tale (which took 2 years). Hence the creation of Death Triangle in Feb 2020 pre-covid to stall time and keep PAC away from the title scene after pivoting away from Omega
Covid threw a wrench in everything PAC related and is still fucking up his travel to this day, which prevented him from working any extended feuds to get over with the crowd (until now with House of Black)
And now the landscape of AEW is so different from when it first started due to Covid/Pandemic Era, the return/acquisition of CM Punk and Danielson that he cant justify giving PAC the main belt.
It's a shame but I'm over seething about it because as much as I like the Bastard you have to admit he doesn't get the crowd going like a MJF or Danielson or whatnot.
