People could get invested in Neo and Agent Smith fighting in the subway because even though everyone knew it was fake in reality and they were really just two actors cooperating, on screen it looked like they were actually trying to fucking kill each other. Pro wrestling doesn't need to look real, it just needs to look real enough to make people suspend their disbelief. And irish whips look real enough. Blatantly cooperative retardation like this, on the other hand, doesn't.
