the WHC is an example of this, nobody considers it on the level of the WWE championship and it is basically an upper midcard belt because it's lineage starts with Seth and it only exists because nobody could beat Roman for so long
we literally just had two WM main events about how Cody had to win the WWE championship and the WWE championship specifically because of the lineage and history of it
and this is not UFC with fucking lineal champions and shit, everybody would be pissed if he actually retired without putting anyone over, whenever someone's vacated the title it wasn't because nobody could beat him which is how it would be if Cena won all year
