Morishima defeated Kojima in Great Voyage 2005 to win the GHC Heavyweight title.
Morishima defended the title 3 times.
2006 began with former tag partner, Takeshi Rikio, challenging Morishima to a title match. The champion retained.
February was occupied by the Victory Cup, in which the final was Shibata vs Marufuji, with Shibata winning it and then challenging Morishima. The feud was built around who was the strongest of the two and, Morishima wanting to prove he's the new Ace, retained the title after getting his shit kicked in the entire match.
Marufuji challenged him after, and the story was: Could ex-Jr Ace Marufuji beat the giant fatass Morishima? The result: He can't. Morishima retains, no matter how many kicks Marufuji would give him.
At this point, every title defence was a C+ at best, making the title's prestige go down from A to B-, so I decided to take the title off his anti-draw ass and put it on KENTA, which immediately gave him his best match of the entire reign and pulled the prestige up. Kinda disappointed in Morishima.
