The basic idea was that a after what Vince did to Bret Hart, a British/Canadian billionaire (who was a huge mark for Stampede Wrestling and the Harts) relaunched Stampede. He used his connection in the media and called in a few favours to get Bret Hart out of his WCW contract and join the newly created Stampede Wrestling. To make matters worse for Vince, many of his talent, angry with Vince and sick of the pull guys like Hunter and Shawn have in the back, jump ship with Bret - British Bulldog, Jim Neidhart, Rick Rude, Mick Foley, Jim Ross, Vader, Dustin Rhodes, Rocky Maivia... and Steve Austin. This leaves the WWF in a weak position but with enough talent to keep their heads up and fight. There are also lots of free agents that can be used, but it's still insanely challenging. Fun though.
