Rock and Austin left.
Trips got handed the belt on RAW. No tournament, no battle royal, no pay-per-view build. Nothing. Bischoff opened a briefcase and handed it over.
Triple H's handpicked stable is to be the focus of the show. Nobody else except Hunter's handpicked successors were going over Triple H.
Triple H opening the show and going through his promo's at a snails pace that just dragged on and on and on and on.
Steiner came back too soon after a groin injury. Trips vetoed Vince's desire to put the world belt on RVD as early as 2002, Booker T got humiliated, Goldberg got a run but that was derailed, the Katie Vick storyline, Kane on the cusp of a push but got demasked and humiliated instead for daring to get cheers over Hunter, the entire show just became the Triple H show and fans and casuals turned it all off in droves only to be met byu the Jeff Jarrett reign of terror going on in this new company in Florida.
Smackdown was the tits during this time period and a godsend. Had it been live, it would have torn RAW's ratings a new asshole. Its one thing to climb the mountain and tell everyone on their way up that its a gorgeous view and the weather is fine, its another thing to toss stones on everyone else below you. Triple H is the culmination of the Kliq getting into power where they are the top stars of the industry and only work well and do business with their friends. One of the few to get great matches out of Hunter during that era was Shawn Michaels and well, go figure there, huh?
